The challenge

Our client, a premium drinks manufacturer partnered with us in 2012 to help them gain visibility and control of their contingent labour. The seasonal nature of their business alongside regular promotional activity means they are frequently engaging high volumes of both white and blue collar contingent labour across their UK and Ireland operations. Historically, an uncontrolled list of suppliers was being used and this presented their business with numerous challenges, including:

  • 70+ supplier relationships to manage
  • Inconsistent compliance and increased risk
  • Lack of visibility and control of labour usage
  • Few opportunities to improve value for money
  • Inconsistent representation of the client brand and candidate experience

What we’ve done 

Guidant created a bespoke contingent labour managed service solution for the client which is aligned to the needs of their business and is an embedded component of their Talent Engagement strategy. Our solution is underpinned by features such as:

  • Dedicated onsite Account Team and single point of contact
  • Visible account management and stakeholder engagement right across the UK and Ireland
  • Expert supply chain management practices
  • Introduction of leading Vendor Management System (VMS) technology
  • Comprehensive and regular management information
  • Standardisation of recruitment processes and candidate experience

In addition, the Guidant team manages the permanent PSL which augments the client's internal Talent Engagement Team.
